Overview
Doubt and false doctrine have crept into the Thessalonian church since Pauls first letter. Paul now writes to commend faithfulness in the Church and correct misunderstanding regarding the second coming.
He emphasises that Christians are to work for the spread of the Gospel not languish in resignation. Paul recounts events which must take place before the second coming. Work and suffering must take place first but will be repaid with future glory.
