Overview
Records the birth of Israel as a nation. It continues Genesis with the Israelites time in Egypt; their appeal to God and His deliverance from Pharaoh. It establishes Gods presence with the nation via the introduction and establishment of the Tabernacle.
A portrait of Christ can be seen in the Passover lamb; the exodus from old to new life; and the form and colours of the tabernacle.

Spans arrival of Joseph in Egypt (1875 BC) to erection of Tabernacle (1445 BC). Probably written in the wilderness around 1420-1445 BC
