Matthew

Overview

Matthew is the Gospel (Good News) written for the Jew. It proclaims the long awaited Messiah in Jesus Christ. It covers the birth, life, death and resurrection of our Lord with many references back to the Old Testament pointing to the inescapable conclusion that Jesus is King.

It is Matthew’s Gospel which gives us the genealogy of Christ (Son of David), validating His claim to be the Messiah. It shows how the Jews and their leaders reject Him and in doing so end their special position as God’s chosen people.
